Introducing the Ruby Fig!

2018 was a good year for Grenache, so when the 2018 vintage came around Bleasdale winemakers Paul and Matt were faced with the challenge of having too much Grenache on their hands. As is tradition at Bleasdale, the decision was made to fortify a tank, and the rest was put towards our Wellington Road GSM and Wild Fig SGM blends.

As fate would have it, the 2018 Wild Fig SGM (only in its second vintage of production at the time) would go on to win the Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 2019 Melbourne Wine Awards and sell out in a matter of days.

So rather than wait for 10-15 more years of maturation before blending into one of Bleasdale's famous tawnies, we have decided to release the aforementioned fortified tank as a fresh, young Ruby - aptly named The Ruby Fig for the wine that put our name on the prestigious list of Jimmy Watson winners.

Fortified with a delicious ex-still brandy, this Ruby is ready to be enjoyed on its own, chilled, or mixed into your new favourite cocktail recipe.
