James Halliday's annual Wine Companion results are in and we are absolutely thrilled to be listed in the 'Top 10 Best Value Wineries' for this year!

On top of that, we also had a whopping 19 wines score 90 points or higher, with 10 of those at 95 or above.

Due to the latest government regulation changes, once again all alcohol must be consumed sitting down, so as such, seated tastings are back at Bleasdale!

We are very pleased to announce that as of Monday June 1st, the Bleasdale Cellar Door will once again be open for tastings, albeit not quite as we know it.

We are able to conduct tastings for seated customers only, so as such we will set up tables and chairs in our cellar door. We will have a maximum capacity of 20 customers at any one time.

As of this weekend, our cellar door will resume normal opening hours of 10am-5pm. We are still only open for take-away sales and order pick ups at this time.

It was announced on Wednesday 15th April that we would once again be allowed to open our doors for take-away sales and order pick ups.

While we never anticipated we would be celebrating our 170th anniversary in the midst of a global pandemic, we still want to take this chance to look back at the amazing foresight of our founder, Frank Potts, and all that has happened in the ensuing 170 years of Bleasdale!

It's with a heavy heart that we announce our Cellar Door is fully closed to visitors from Tuesday March 31st until further notice.

The good news is that we are still able to organise wine to be delivered! If you need to stock up, please place an order online or give us a call on 08 8537 4000.

The Bleasdale Cellar Door will not be offering tastings of any wines for the foreseeable future.

We are however, still open fortake-away sales, phone or online orders.If you are close by, you are welcome to call past and pick up some wine to drink at home, or if you’re further afield or lying low in your house, we can arrange to send the wine to you.

We have also made an adjustment to our opening hours for takeaways as below:

10am-5pm Monday – Friday

11am-4pm Saturday & Sunday

During this unprecedented and ever-changing situation, the health and well-being of our customers and staff is our highest priority. We are closely monitoring all advice given by government and health authorities and will continue to adapt as required.

At this stage our cellar door will be operating as normal, with tastings and sales from 10am-5pm, seven days a week.

There are many awards and respected trophies presented within the wine industry each year, and while Bleasdale has a large collection of wins to its name, there was always one award that we believe to be the epitome of excellence in the wine industry; the cherry on top of the cupcake or the golden star on our homework… The Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy.

Bleasdale has brought its founding father Frank Potts to the forefront of its wine portfolio in recognition of his foresight and pioneering spirit.

The Langhorne Creek winery launched a revamped 2017 Frank Potts Cabernet Blend (RRP $35) to coincide with Potts’ 204th birthday on 11 July.

The new financial year saw some management changes here at Bleasdale, with our General Manager of the past 4.5 years, Martin Strachan (left), stepping down and handing over the reins to Leigh Warren, previously our National Sales Manager.

While Martin isn’t leaving us completely (he will now be focusing solely on exports), we asked him to put together a few words about his time in charge here at Bleasdale.
