The shortlists for the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards have been announced and we are thrilled to be shortlisted for not one, but two awards!

We have been nominated for both Best Value Winery, and Winery of the Year.

This is not our first time nominated in the Best Value Winery category, having also been shortlisted for the award last year, as well as featured in the Top 10 Best Value Wineries in 2021.

Of this nomination, the Halliday Wine Companion team had these glowing words to say:

"One of the most historic wineries in Australia – Bleasdale has become a quality juggernaut, but special value wines are the kind of bread and butter it knows more about than most. The simple fact is that these wines stack up no matter which way you look at them. This isn’t new for Bleasdale; this is what it does."

It is our first foray onto the Winery of the Year shortlist, however, which is an exciting new list to feature on alongside some amazing Australian wineries. The Halliday Team had the following to say about this second nomination:

"There’s an argument to say that the Bleasdale winery, both historically and most certainly at the hand of winemaker Paul Hotker, should be regarded as every Australian wine lover’s best friend. There was no doubt a great foundation and culture to build on, in vineyards and growers, people and history, but the work of Bleasdale’s head winemaker Paul Hotker cannot be underestimated. He and his team are relentless in their determination to work magic."

We're eagerly awaiting the announcement of the winners at the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards on Wednesday 2nd August. We have our fingers crossed!
